WeLab Bank “Flash Account Opening Referral Offer” Special Campaign Terms & Conditions

[1] The WeLab Bank “Flash Account Opening Referral Offer” Special Campaign (“Campaign”) period shall be from 1 March to 30 April 2022 (both dates inclusive) (“Campaign Period”), unless otherwise specified.

[2] The Campaign applies to a Welab Bank Limited’s (“WeLab Bank”, “we”, “us” or “our”) customer (“you” or “your”) who holds a valid bank account with us during the Campaign Period.

[3]This Campaign Terms & Conditions should be read in conjunction with the WeLab Bank R-Friend Referral Campaign Terms and Conditions and WeLab Bank MGM Account Opening Reward Terms and Conditions. Terms defined in the WeLab Bank R-Friend Referral Campaign Terms and Conditions and WeLab Bank MGM Account Opening Reward Terms and Conditions shall have the same meanings when used herein, unless otherwise defined.

Referrer Rewards

[4] A “Successful Referral” occurs when the following conditions (a), (b) and (c) are satisfied during the Campaign Period:

a) Existing WeLab Bank customer with a valid WeLab Bank account (“Referrer”) shares his or her unique referral code to an individual that has never held a WeLab Bank account in their name (“Direct Referee”);

b) Direct Referee opens a WeLab Bank account successfully using the Referrer’s unique referral code; and

c) During the period from the Account Opening Date and the following 30 days, the Direct Referee must complete at least 1 Eligible Transaction with any merchant using his/her WeLab Debit Card.

[5] For each Successful Referral, the Referrer will be entitled to the corresponding Incremental Flash Offer Reward below:

[6] The Campaign can only be enjoyed in conjunction with the WeLab Bank R-Friend Referral Campaign. WeLab Bank R-Friend Referral Campaign’s terms and conditions continue to apply. The Referrer can still enjoy the Direct Referral Reward from these Direct Referees according to the “WeLab Bank R-Friend Referral Campaign Terms and Conditions”.

For example, Referrers who have successfully referred 3 new Direct Referees onboard within the Campaign Period will be entitled to HKD 100 Direct Referral Reward x 3 + HKD 350 Flash Offer Reward, which is a total reward of HKD 650 in value.

[7] For the avoidance of doubt, if a Direct Referee does not complete at least 1 Eligible Transaction within 30 days after account opening, the Referrer will not earn any Flash Offer Reward from this Direct Referee referral.

For example, a Referrer who has successfully referred 5 new Direct Referees onboard within the Campaign Period but if only 2 of them have completed at least 1 Eligible Transaction with WeLab Debit Card within 30 days after account opening, the Referrer will be entitled to HKD 100 Direct Referral Reward x 5 + HKD 350 Flash Offer Reward, which is a total reward of HKD 850 in value.

[8] The Referrer can still enjoy the Flash Offer Reward even if they have reached the Maximum Reward according to the “WeLab Bank R-Friend Referral Campaign Terms and Conditions”.

[9] Referrers will be notified by WeLab Bank on or before 14 June 2022. The final amount of Flash Offer Reward that the customer is entitled to and the number of Successful Referrals during the Campaign Period will be indicated in the communication.

[10] The Flash Offer Reward will be credited to the Referrers’ Core Account on or before 14 June 2022.

Referee Rewards

[11] Each Direct Referee will be entitled to an additional reward of HKD 150 Spending Rebate (“Referee Bonus Offer”) on top of the WeLab Bank MGM Account Opening Reward (“Referee Base Offer”)( together the “Referee Offer”), capped at the total value of the Referee Bonus Offer plus the Referee Base Offer. The Referee Offer is applicable for all transactions made with your WeLab Debit Card (“Eligible Transactions”), within 30 calendar days from the date of the receiving the confirmation email from WeLab Bank indicating that the account opening request is approved and the account is set up.

[12] The Referee Offer cannot be transferred, returned, exchanged or converted into other form, unless otherwise specified by WeLab Bank.

[13] Eligible transaction is defined as transactions conducted using your WeLab Debit Card (including (i) your virtual and physical WeLab Debit Card and (ii) your WeLab Debit Card which have been added in your mobile wallet) within the Campaign Period in any currency (“Eligible Transaction”).

[14] If the transaction is made in a currency other than Hong Kong Dollars, the Spending Rebate will be calculated based on Hong Kong Dollars after conversion at the applicable exchange rate. The Spending Rebate amount will be rounded to the nearest cent.

[15] If the total amount of eligible transactions conducted within the spending period has exceeded the Spending Rebate that the Direct Referee is entitled to, the exceeded amount will not be entitled to the Spending Rebate.

[16] The Spending Rebate will be credited into your Core Account within 10 working days in the next calendar month after the end of the spending period.

[17] Our decision as to what constitutes an ineligible or Eligible Transaction (as the case may be) shall be final and conclusive. Ineligible transactions, shall include but are not limited to the below: (a) payment of banking fees and charges (including but not limited to annual fee, overdrawn fee, card replacement fee, ATM cash withdrawal fee, if applicable); (b) quasi-cash transactions including: (i) betting and gambling transactions; (ii) instalment payments; (iii) balance transfers; (iv) cash, token, vouchers payment and/or foreign exchange transactions at non-financial institutions (including cash coupon purchases, purchase of foreign currency, money orders and travelers’ cheques); and/or (v) any transactions at other financial institutions (including purchase of merchandise and services from banks); (c) bank transfers (by way of Faster Payment System, SWIFT, eDDA, etc.); (d) bill payments (including but not limited to water bills, electricity bills, insurance premiums, payments to other banks and credit cards, etc.); (e) tax payments to the Inland Revenue Department; (f) purchase and/or reload of stored value cards or e-wallets; and/or (g) unposted, cancelled and/or refunded transactions, in whole or in part. We may add to, or remove from, the list of ineligible transactions from time to time at our sole discretion.

[18] Transactions which have been cancelled or reversed in full will not be counted as Eligible Transactions.

[19] If you have subsequently cancelled or reversed any transactions (in full or partial amount) in respect of which cash rebate amount has been credited to your Core Account, we reserve the right to debit (i) the respective spending rebate amount and (ii) any spending rebate difference directly from your Core Account without prior notice.

[20] You agree and acknowledge that you are not entitled to receive any cash rebate amount if you close your Core Account at any time before the spending rebate amount is credited to your Core Account.

[21] Any breach of applicable laws or regulations, fraud, abuse and/or non-compliance by you (as determined at our sole discretion) will result in forfeiture of your eligibility to participate in the Campaign and/or suspension or termination of all or any of your Account with us. We shall not credit the cash rebate amount or where the cash rebate amount has been credited, we reserve the right to debit the cash rebate amount from your Account (including but not limited to your Core Account) without notice and/or take such necessary legal action to recover any outstanding amounts.

[22] We reserve the right to suspend, modify or terminate this Campaign and/or amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. In the event of dispute, our decision shall be final, conclusive and binding.

[23] Terms defined in our Account Terms shall have the same meanings when used herein, unless otherwise defined.

[24] These terms and conditions shall be read in conjunction with our Account Terms. In the event of discrepancies or inconsistencies between these terms and conditions and the Account Terms, these terms and conditions shall prevail.

[25] In the event of any discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail.
