Investment Orders

(1) How can I place a subscription or redemption order?<For Featured Funds Services>
  • To subscribe a fund, you can access “GoWealth” homepage, and select “Featured Funds” and press “Choose a fund”. You may select a fund and follow the onscreen instruction to complete the order.
  • To redeem a fund, you can access “GoWealth” homepage, and select “Featured Funds” and select your existing fund holdings and press “Sell” to follow the onscreen instruction to complete the order.
<For GoWealth Digital Wealth Advisory Services>
  • To subscribe a model portfolio, you can access “GoWealth” homepage, and select “Digital Wealth Advisory” and click "Add New Goals" to complete the goal set up process. You may place an one-off investment order and/or monthly investment order.
  • To redeem a goal portfolio, you can access “GoWealth” homepage, and select “Digital Wealth Advisory” and click the goal to access the goal details and click the "Sell" button to proceed the redemption order. You may redeem your portfolio completely or partially (by inputting a redemption amount), and the number of fund units to be sold will be estimated according to the latest available NAV. The actual redemption amount will be subject to the fund NAV on the order execution date.
(2) When can I place an order via the WeLab Bank app? When will my order be executed? When is the order execution cut-off time?You can place orders anytime via our App.If you place an order before the cut-off time (i.e. 3:00pm Hong Kong Time(“HKT”)) on a dealing day, your order will be processed on the same day. If you place an order at or after the cut-off time or on a non-Business Day/non-dealing day of the fund, your order will be processed on the next Business Day.Note: The dealing day of each selected fund within the Model Portfolio may be different, which may result in different order execution date and separate contract notes. For details, please refer to the fund documents of that specific fund.(3) What is the minimum subscription amount?You can start investing with us with as low as HKD 100 or USD 15 (for Featured Funds Service only).(4) What is the difference to choose between “Pay in HKD” and “Pay in USD”?<For Featured Funds Services>
  • “Pay in HKD” means we will convert your investment amount from your available HKD balance to USD to settle all fund transactions.
  • “Pay in USD” means we will only deduct your investment amount from your available USD balance to settle this one time investment instruction. Please note, monthly investment instruction is only available in “Pay in HKD”. If you would like to set up monthly investment instruction, you can try “Pay in HKD” instead.
<For GoWealth Digital Wealth Advisory Services>All the model portfolios are made up of fund denominated in USD. Currently, you can create your goal and choose “Pay in HKD" only.
  • “Pay in HKD” means we will convert your investment amount from your available HKD balance to USD to settle all fund transactions.
  • “Pay in USD” (currently not available) means we will debit your investment amount from your Foreign Currency Account directly to settle all fund transactions.
Please note that you can only select the payment currency when setting up the goal. Once you have selected the payment currency, you cannot change it afterwards. Before one-off investment or monthly investment order is processed, please ensure that you will have sufficient balance of your selected payment currency in your account to settle the order.The currency exchange rates shown on the page are for reference only – orders will be executed at the prevailing rate during the actual transaction. The actual rate will be confirmed when your order is successful.(5) How can I know if my order placement is successful?Right after placing an order, the App will (1) advise you that your order has been processed and (2) give you the reference number of the transaction. We will also send you a notification via app notification, SMS and email.
You may also check the order status in the App by accessing "My Profile" > "Wealth Centre" > "Order Status" for more details. And you may also check your contract note in the App upon receiving relevant notification via app notification, SMS and email by assessing “My Profile” > “eStatement / eAdvice” > “eAdvice”. You can access up to 7 years of eAdvice. These are PDFs that you can download, save and print.
(6) Can I modify/cancel an order placed via mobile?Once you have placed the order, the order will be processed accordingly and no modification is accepted. However, you may cancel the order by calling our Customer Services Team by phone at +852 3898 6988 before 2pm of the same day of order placement (if you place the order before 3pm HKT of a dealing day) or 2pm of the next Business Day (if you place the order at or after 3pm HKT of a dealing day or on a non-Business Day). Once the deadline is passed, no cancellation requests will be handled.For GoWealth Digital Wealth Advisory Services, if you have successfully cancelled a fund order placed via mobile, the subscription fee will be credited back to your HKD Core Account and the subscription amount will be credited back to your USD Account.For Featured Funds, if you have successfully cancelled a fund order placed via mobile, since the order is cancelled before settlement takes place, it will not be counted as part of the settled position and therefore no fee will be incurred for the cancelled order.(7) <For GoWealth Digital Wealth Advisory Services only> Will there be any notification sent to me regarding performance or composition of my goal(s)? What should I do if I receive the “off track” / “updated model portfolios” notification?<For GoWealth Digital Wealth Advisory Services only>You may receive Smart Alert from us from time to time via app notification, SMS and email regarding the updated status of your investment goal(s)(e.g. on/off track notification) and/or portfolio reviews (e.g. review on model portfolios) (if any) after we access your probability of success of your goal(s).Upon receiving the Smart Alert on your updated status of your investment goal(s) (e.g. “off track”) or updated model portfolios, you can either:
  • Proceed to “Edit” your goal by adjusting your goal inputs (e.g. monthly investment amount, goal-specific investment horizon, target wealth, etc.) according to the instructions in the App. New portfolio recommendation may be given to you upon the adjustment, and you may decide whether to accept the recommendation or not. Please refer to Question 8 for details.
  • Keep your current investment plan to your existing portfolio of your goal, but please note that the existing investment plan of your goal may not be able to achieve your goal as planned. However, we will still help track your progress from time to time.
Before making any investment decision, you should carefully consider your investment objective as well as the risks, charges and expenses associated and seek independent professional advice if necessary.(8) <For GoWealth Digital Wealth Advisory Services only> After I edit my goal parameters, there is an updated recommendation. What does it mean by "new portfolio" or "rebalancing"? What if I choose not to follow the updated portfolio suggestion?<For GoWealth Digital Wealth Advisory Services>Based on your latest inputs and personal circumstances specific to the goal, an updated portfolio recommendation will be provided.
  • New Portfolio: A new Model Portfolio recommendation is available based on your latest inputs and personal circumstances specific to the goal.
  • Rebalancing: A significant deviation* in your existing portfolio from the Model Portfolio is noted and you may adjust your fund holdings to bring it back to the original fund allocation of the Model Portfolio, through rebalancing.
*When accumulated deviation of the Selected Funds in your existing portfolio holding exceeds 10% of the original fund allocation of the respective Model Portfolio.Based on the difference between your holdings of the original model portfolio and the composition of updated recommendation, we will follow your instruction to (1) first sell part or all of your current holdings of your investment in this goal and (2) use the proceed to buy the fund(s) to meet the expected composition of the new Model Portfolio upon the settlement of the sell order. The actual transaction amounts and numbers of the units of fund(s) will be confirmed on the contract notes of sell and buy orders respectively.If you choose not to follow the updated portfolio suggestion, the portfolio may not be able to achieve your goal as planned.Note: If your switching/rebalancing order consists of buy order(s), subscription fee(s) will be incurred. The algorithm will not consider the additional fees or charges incurred in the switching/rebalancing order when making new portfolio or rebalancing recommendation. You should take into account, among the other things, the additional costs incurred when you consider whether to accept the recommendation.We do not support topping up your existing model portfolio after setting up your goal at this stage.(9) When will the orders be settled?For both buy and sell orders, it usually takes 3 to 4 Business Days to settle your order after the order is executed.
  • For buy order, the transaction amount will be debited from your available balance (in the currency you have selected for investment amount or in HKD for subscription fee [for GoWealth Digital Wealth Advisory services only]) upon order placement and the fund units will be deposited into your Investment Account upon settlement.
  • For sell order, the units to be sold will be withdrawn from your Investment Account upon settlement and the proceeds will then be credited to your FX Account (as the case may be) in the denominated currency of the fund as soon as possible after settlement.
  • For switching/rebalancing order (for GoWealth Digital Wealth Advisory services only), if the order consists of both sell and buy orders, the settlement of whole switching portfolio or rebalancing order will take approximately 6 to 8 Business Days.
(10) <For GoWealth Digital Wealth Advisory Services only> Can I redeem an individual fund under a Model Portfolio?<For GoWealth Digital Wealth Advisory Services>You are not permitted to redeem one or more constituent funds of your goal’s portfolio holdings. However, you can partially redeem your goal’s portfolio holdings where we will redeem each of the constituent funds in your goal’s portfolio holdings in accordance with the weighting of each constituent fund in your goal’s portfolio holdings.(11) Can I transfer out assets held in Wealth Management Services?No, we do not support transfer out of fund units and FX holdings.
