WeLab Bank’s Chief Executive Dr. William Leung to retire, to be succeeded by Adrian Tse

WeLab is announcing the retirement of Dr. William Leung, Chief Executive and Executive Director of WeLab Bank as of December 31, 2019.William has been with WeLab since 2018 where he has brought leadership and been instrumental in laying the groundwork in building the bank from zero, to have already reached several significant milestones to date. He has provided guidance and shared deep industry knowledge in setting a robust foundation for the establishment of WeLab Bank. Upon retirement William will continue to devote his time to public service and further contribute to the Hong Kong community.The company is pleased to announce that Adrian Tse, currently Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Director of WeLab Bank, will be named as Chief Executive, effective January 1, 2020. Adrian has close to 30 years of experience in the banking and finance industry. Prior to joining WeLab Bank, Adrian was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Director at Standard Chartered in Taiwan. Adrian has previously held a number of other senior roles regionally, including Chief Executive Officer at Prudential Vietnam Fund Management Company in Vietnam and Regional Head of Finance & Hong Kong CFO at Standard Chartered Retail Banking Division.
