Hong Kong, 30 July 2025 – WeLab Bank (“the Bank”) would like to alert customers and the public to a fraudulent website, mobile app and recent scam activity. Scammers are impersonating the Bank and its parent company, WeLab, to offer false investment opportunities, including organizing online investment seminars or establishing group chats on social messaging platforms to induce individuals to download the fraudulent mobile app for further exploitation. Please be aware that WeLab and WeLab Bank have no connection to this fraudulent mobile app or its associated activity. We have reported this matter to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Hong Kong Police Force. Customers are reminded to visit our official websites at https://www.welab.bank/en/ and https://www.welab.bank/en/, and to ensure they access the Bank’s valid mobile app (WeLab Bank mobile app) only through the App Store and Google Play. Do not click on any suspicious hyperlinks and remain vigilant against SMS messages from unfamiliar senders and bogus websites. If customers are concerned that they may have disclosed their personal information or conducted any transactions through such channel, please report to the Police or the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) of the Hong Kong Police Force.
