What is WeLab Bank Learn Now Pay Later for Preface?

WeLab Bank Learn Now Pay Later for Preface is a credit product for customers to purchase eligible Preface courses at fixed-term instalment payment under a dedicated credit line. With the Learn Now Pay Later Program, customer can purchase multiple AI courses for themselves or their children at Preface. This credit product is offered by the Bank, and not by Preface.

How may I purchase Preface courses with the WeLab Bank Learn Now Pay Later for Preface program?

You can contact a Preface consultant at the Preface website to inquire about course information and inform them that you wish to use our Bank's Learn Now Pay Later program for payment. The Preface consultant will select courses for you on our Learn Now Pay Later application platform and generate an application QR code for you. You will then be directed to our application platform for applying for the credit products for checkout.

What are the requirement for applying for WeLab Bank Learn Now Pay Later for Preface?

You must be a HK permanent resident at age of 18 years old or above, and you also need to provide a permanent residential address for application. Upon submitting application we will go through a series of internal due diligence check before presenting you the approval result.

What do I need to provide in order to apply for WeLab Bank Learn Now Pay Later for Preface if I currently do not hold a WeLab Bank account?

If you do not hold a valid WeLab Bank account at the moment, we will open a WeLab Bank account for you during you first application process. You will need to authenticate yourself with HKID scan and selfie taking, apart from providing further personal information e.g. residential, education and employment details for us to proceed with your application.

Will my WeLab Bank account be readily available upon it is opened successfully through my Learn Now Pay Later application?

You will need to download and log in WeLab Bank app after finishing checkout as soon as possible to re-authenticate your account and finish setting up. Until the process is complete, your account will not be fully functionable including that you cannot make another purchase with the revolving credit line.

To facilitate you to deposit funds for repaying the loan, we strongly advise you to complete such steps before your first monthly repayment.

Why is my application under further review?

There are various factors to consider for your account opening and/or credit application so sometimes we would require additional manual review to check your application before granting you the approval. Rest assured that we are on it and will get back to you as soon as possible, usually within 1-2 business days.

Will the payment QR code issued under Learn Now Pay Later program become expired?

The payment QR code issued under Learn Now Pay Later program will become expired 14 days after the day it is issued to you when you confirm the order summary by entering the one-time password. Once the payment QR code has expired, the payment QR code cannot be used for order payment, and your order will be cancelled.

Where can I find the payment QR codes that have been issued to me?

You will see the payment QR code in the order confirmation page after you enter the one-time password to confirm the order. Before the QR code become expired, you can also login here (link TBC) or login to your WeLab Bank app to view the status of the plan and the payment QR code.

How can I use the payment QR code to complete the payment?

You can use the payment QR code to complete the payment by presenting the payment QR code to a Preface curriculum advisor and let the Preface curriculum advisor scan the code with the Bank's partner platform. The Preface curriculum advisor will be directed to a summary of the corresponding order and be able to confirm your payment in the platform. Once the payment is confirmed, you will receive a notification regarding payment completion.

(1) The monthly instalment amount is calculated based on 0% Annualized Interest Rate (APR) and the following assumptions:

(2) The Bank is not the supplier or reseller of Preface courses. Preface shall be solely responsible for the quality and availability of any products or services as provided by it. Any inquiry, comment or complaint about the quality of relevant Preface’s products or services should be directed to Preface. The Bank will not be responsible for any matters in relation to relevant products or services. Any disputes arising from the Preface’s products and services should be resolved between the customer and Preface. Chargeback protection is not applicable to this program, which means if the reseller fails to deliver the products or services and refuses to refund the purchase payment, we will not make any refund to you instead and your obligation to repay the instalment loan in full will continue.

(3) The Annualized Interest Rate (APR) under this program is 0%. The APR is calculated according to the guidelines issued in respect of the Code of Banking Practice and rounded to the nearest 2 decimal places and may vary for individual customers. The APR is a reference rate, which includes all applicable interest rates, fees and charges of the product, expressed as an annualized rate, and the APR and monthly repayment amount applicable to individual customers may vary. The revolving credit limit, APR and the loan tenor of the instalment loan of this program will be subjected to the bank’s final approval. If you do not have a valid WeLab Bank account before the application of this program, you will apply to open a WeLab Bank account during the application of the program. After the completion of the application, please download and log in WeLab Bank app to re-authenticate your account and complete setting up as soon as possible. Your account will not be fully functionable including that you cannot make another purchase with the revolving credit line until you have completed the re-authentication.

(4) The repayment period of the loan is 6 / 12 / 18 / 24 months depending on your selection.

(5) The offer is subject to the terms and conditions of the “WeLab Bank x Preface Joint Promotion Bank Offer.” For Offer 1, the free beverage will be based on a designated drink of the same or lower price. For details, please refer to the relevant terms.

(6) The price of a cup of coffee is referenced to Preface Coffee & Wine’s price of HKD40 for a cup of Espresso in December 2025.

(7) Eligible new customers can open a designated 1-month HKD GoSave 2.0 time deposit with an annual interest rate of 5% within 7 calendar days from the date of successfully opening a core account. Each new customer can only open one designated HKD GoSave 2.0 time deposit, with the principal amount ranging from HKD10,000 to HKD100,000. Terms and conditions apply.

(8) From 15 December 2025 to 13 March 2026, eligible new customers who successfully opened or have a valid Core Account and Investment Account with any accounts’ balance at or above HKD 20,000 as of 13 March 2026, subscribed funds / portfolios via Featured Funds or GoWealth Digital Wealth Advisory for an one off investment amount of HKD 10,000 or above (excluding money market funds and Portfolio 1, and any monthly investment instructions), with accumulated investment amount of HKD 20,000 or above, and hold the fund position from 14 March 2026 until 12 July 2026, eligible transaction can earn 8.8% one-month annual rate cash reward. The accumulated investment amount of Eligible Transactions of a customer that can be counted as Eligible Transactions shall be capped at HKD 5,000,000 and the total Cash Reward received under this Program shall be capped at HKD 36,164.4 (HKD 5,000,000 *8.8%*30/365).
